Derek Herrera has proudly served on the Upper Country Water Board since August 2017 and currently serves as the Board Chairman. He is deeply committed to protecting the health and sustainability of our community by ensuring local families and businesses have access to safe, reliable drinking water.

A proud resident of the area for more than 13 years, Derek is passionate about supporting the region's infrastructure and economic growth. He brings valuable utility experience through his career with Moon Lake Electric and is also a local small business owner, providing practical insight and a strong commitment to serving the community.

Outside of his professional and board responsibilities, Derek has been happily married to his wife, JaCoy, for 14 years. Together they are raising their two children, Haddi and Kolter. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and, whenever possible, can be found in the mountains riding horses and enjoying the outdoors.
